Itinerary
Upon your arrival, the driver will transfer you from the Guwahati Airport/railway station/bus stand to your hotel in Shillong. On the way, visit Umiam Lake aka Barapani, an amazing man-made reservoir encircled by lush green hills. Reach Shillong and check in to your hotel. The remaining day is yours to enjoy and rejuvenate.
Today after breakfast, travel to Cherrapunjee. En-route visit Shillong peak to have a picturesque view of the entire city. Then visit Elephant Falls, named after an Elephant like stone at its foot, the Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the North-East. Upon arrival at Cherrapunjee, visit Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point, Dainthlen Falls, Wei Sawdong & Mawsmai Cave. Enjoy the beautiful evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
Early morning (6 AM) your journey to Double Decker Root Bridge, deep in the dense tropical forest Meghalaya is a must visit destination known for its numerous waterfalls. It's a 3000 step journey (Trek) down the hill and the trek starts from Tyrna Village (10 Kms from Sohra, Cherrapunjee). Start the trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) with the local guide (guide cost excluded). The aprox. Time to complete the journey (both ways) is 5-6 Hrs. Later on, you can also extend your hike to Rainbow Falls at optional cost (60 minutes hike from Nongriat). Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.
Today, after breakfast, start your journey to Mawlynnong (it was awarded the prestigious tag of 'Cleanest Village in Asia' in 2003. Upon arrival do a short trek in the village & witness the local beauty. You can also visit Balancing Rock, Sky Viewpoint (Nohwet Viewpoint) & the longest living root bridge. Eat local lunch in the village.
Then, we will proceed to the border town of Dawki, a hidden paradise. Upon arrival, visit
Umngot River in Dawki is crystal clear & is considered one the cleanest rivers in. You can do boating (at an additional cost). Overnight stay at Tent / Homestay at Shnongpdeng.
After breakfast You can do multiple adventure activities (at additional cost) like Kayaking, Boating, Zip lining, Cliff Jumping, etc over here. After activities, proceed to visit India's most magical waterfall - Krang Suri Waterfalls.Get drenched and swim in the natural pools. Also, visit Tyrshi Falls in Jowai. Later, travel back to Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to visit Kamakhya Devi Temple. Later proceed to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for your onward journey. Tour concludes with everlasting memories of Meghalaya.
